WE ARE TAKING A STAND AT THIS ELECTION

ANY POLITICAL PARTY OR LOCAL COUNCILLOR WHO SUPPORTS
DAMAGE TO MARMION MARINE PARK AND DESTRUCTION OF
OCEAN REEF FORESHORE WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE

With the State election fast approaching, it is time to get political. Save Ocean Reef Citizens Association is a non-political group that advocates for the Ocean Reef community and various associations and business
groups that do not accept the current development proposal.

We are not opposed to an upgrade of the existing boating launching facility. However, we do not accept the scale of the current proposal and the irreversible damage it will do to Marmion Marine Park.

We will be out in force campaigning against and targeting ANY political party who:

Deliberately seeks to gain votes on the back of the environmental destruction of the Ocean Reef coast and Marmion Marine Park.

• Is responsible for any damage or destruction to the Ocean Reef cliffs and cave structures which have important Aboriginal cultural significance. We have made this OUR election promise to the local Aboriginal community, and we will expend our energy and resources on ensuring the political party responsible incurs national and international condemnation.

• Supports the destruction and loss of access to our beaches, surf breaks and abalone reefs for the purpose of land reclamation and housing development.

Does not advocate for a proper cost benefit analysis and risk assessment of the development’s business plan, including taking into consideration the loss of the natural environment.

• Is willing to risk potential irreversible damage to Mullaloo Beach – one of Perth’s most beautiful and treasured family-friendly beaches.
